Pat Smith

CPM Executive Director

Pat Smith has more than 20 years of experience in the areas of community development, leadership, and communications. She joined the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) in 2007, and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet. She has held various communications positions within DCF, including Northwest Regional Communications Director, Press Secretary, and Community Relations Director. She is a motivational speaker and former radio talk show host on WTAL-1450 AM. She is a certified public manager from Florida State University and known for her community engagement. Specifically, for forging strong relationships among faith-based and community leaders. She believes in giving back to her community. She enjoys mentoring young women and girls, as well as serving on a host of state and local boards; as a gubernatorial appointment to the Florida Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council, the Renaissance Charter School, Ladies Learning to Lead, and formerly serving on the Leon County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. She has received honors and recognitions from various organizations, including the Tallahassee Democrat’s 25 Women You Need to Know, Tallahassee Community College, Florida Public Relations Association, and the NAACP. She is a proud mom, grandmother, and wife.
