Alexander “Alex” Jordan, Sr. is the Director of Operations, Emergency Management, and Campus Safety for the Florida Department of Education (DOE), Division of Florida Colleges. He has had a 26-year career in administration with the State of Florida. Since arriving in Tallahassee, he has introduced numerous grant projects, cost allocation methodologies, strategic plans, and safety measures as Director of Operations for the Florida College System. Additionally, Alexander’s work has included implementation innovation in areas of athletics, contract management, cybersecurity, facilities management, information technology, student services, and security projects involving the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Mr. Jordan has a Bachelor of Criminal Justice from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and a Master’s in Public Policy from Liberty University Helm School of Government. He is pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration at Florida State University.
Mr. Jordan’s community involvement includes membership in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as well as membership in NAACP, Association of Florida Colleges, and Association on Higher Education and Disability. He is a member of Leadership Florida Education Class 7,FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Executive Board, Tallahassee State College 2022 Alumni and Friend’s Hall of Fame Inductee, and the recipient of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement Administrative Service Award, along with many other awards.
Mr. Jordan is married to Natalia Jordan, a graduate of Florida State University. Alexander and Natalia live in Tallahassee with their children and enjoy church, cycling, community service, and traveling with their family.
