Dr. David Clay
Dr. David Clay is a native of Philadelphia, PA. After graduating high school he served five years in the United States Marine Corps, leaving with the rank of Sergeant. Upon discharging from the military Dr. Clay attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA to study psychology.
Upon graduating from Morehouse College he transitioned to the University of South Florida’s Clinical Psychology program where he completed his doctoral degree. His professional work began at the Florida State Hospital located in Chattahoochee, FL where he provided mental health services to both civilly and forensically committed patients.
Since his departure from the Florida State Hospital in 2010, Dr. Clay has been providing consultation services to the Florida Disability Determinations Service. During the nearly thirty years that he has been in Florida (twenty-one of those in North Florida), Dr. Clay has been committed to community service as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and by working as a board member for various community organizations.
Dr. Clay remains committed to community service and looks for opportunities to improve his community in various capacities including increasing the availability of affordable housing.
